How does LIFEcard Health™ Work?
Enter important health information into the LIFEcard Health™ database for you or for your loved ones, and if you are unable to communicate, medical personnel can request information about your health through our website or through a toll-free phone number.


Here are several examples of how the
LIFEcard Health™ Program works…

Example #1:
A salesman on a business trip was found unresponsive in the hallway of his hotel. When the paramedics and police arrived, they discovered his LIFEcard Health™ card in his wallet. The medical staff quickly accessed his health and contact information and learned that the salesman was a diabetic with a heart condition. They were informed of his correct dosage of insulin and of other medications the salesman was taking. They were also informed of his insurance information. The nurses quickly contacted the salesman’s family so that they could make arrangements to catch the next flight out to be with him.

Example #2: A college student attending an out-of-state school is injured on a Friday night in an automobile accident. She is unconscious. Hospital personnel find the LIFEcard Health card in the student’s purse. They quickly access the contact and health information. She has no significant medical conditions but her contact information allows the hospital to immediately notify her parents. Usually, the hospital has to get the University involved to get that contact information and there are delays. The parents immediately leave to be with the student.

LIFEcard Health services also have valuable non-emergency applications. Many people have multiple doctors and take a variety of medications. Also, the medications and dosages sometimes change often. Users can go online and easily enter their information regarding their doctors, conditions, prescriptions, medications, and dosages.

Example #3: A woman is the primary care provider for her parents who are infirmed but mobile. Each parent has multiple doctors. Her father takes 6 medications and her mother takes 7. The woman uses the LIFEcard Health services to keep track of the medical information for her parents. Every time she takes one of them to a doctor she prints out the data sheet and gives the doctor a copy to discuss and for their files. Everyone is informed and she believes her parents receive better healthcare because of her efforts.

Membership in the LIFEcard Health™ program will renew automatically each year on the anniversary of the first payment date. Members will be notified 30 days and 15 days prior to the autorenewal of membership.
